Aerodromes
Here you'll find details about viewing aerodromes in the database, and adding, editing and deleting custom aerodromes from your logbook.
Viewing aerodromes
You can find the aerodromes section by navigating to 'Logbook' from the main menu and tapping on 'Aerodromes' on the bottom navigation bar. There are two Aerodrome databases, those in our extensive library which is automatically synced in the background, and any custom aerodromes you may add yourself. Custom aerodromes are a feature exclusively for subscribers.
You can view your recent and most visited aerodromes from the Aerodromes screen, as well as any custom Aerodromes. To view other aerodromes in the database, you will need to use the search function.
Data in the library is obtained from https://ourairports.com/, which is an open-source aviation database. If you notice something missing or incorrect, you can make a suggestion there to correct the data.
Tapping on an aerodrome will show you details about that aerodrome. If you are a subscriber, the most recent flights will be displayed. You can deselect the aerodrome by tapping the close button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Adding a custom aerodrome
To add a custom aerodrome, tap on the plus button in the upper right corner of the screen. This will take you to the 'New aerodrome' screen. 'Name' and 'Code' are required fields for every aerodrome entry. It is also highly recommended to add a latitude and longitude, as this will allow for correct night time calculation.
Once you are happy, tap the checkmark button in the upper right corner to save the aerodrome and add it to your logbook. If you change your mind, instead tap the back button in the upper left corner and no aerodrome will be added.
Editing a custom aerodrome
To edit a custom aerodrome, select the desired aerodrome and tap the edit button. You will be taken to the 'Edit aerodrome' screen, where you can make any changes required. The principles are the same as adding a new aerodrome.
Tapping the back button in the upper left corner will undo any changes, and tapping the checkmark button in the upper right corner will save the aerodrome.
Deleting a custom aerodrome
To delete a custom aerodrome, select the desired aerodrome and tap the delete button. You will be asked to confirm, and then the aerodrome will be removed.
There may be flights in the logbook that contain the aerodrome you wish to delete. Before deletion is carried out, you will be asked if you wish to delete these flights too. If you choose not to, the aerodrome will be simply removed from those flights.
